Vision trip, is a journey that takes place once a year to Costa Rica by representatives of a “Right at Home” medical services franchise from different parts of the United States.
This mission is a team work between Free Wheelchair Mission and Do It Foundation, planning and logistics covers about two months, were includes selection of possible users of wheelchairs within the national territory, pick chair sizes, assembly and delivery it to the beneficiaries.
This year 2018, the vision trip was from October 22 to 26, twelve volunteers from Right at Home, two leaders from Free Wheeler Mission and three collaborators from Do It Foundation team accompanied us. On this occasion, the deliveries took place in the zones of Liberia, Bebedero-Cañas, Bijagua and Canalete from Upala and Puntarenas, distributions where made home to home and a small event, where the right of mobility reached out around 60 people.
In each place prior to delivery, wheelchairs were assembled, and with various aspects of logistics in each area, it had the collaboration other entities such as the Municipality of Puntarenas, Papagayo Do It Center, Municipality of Upala, Group Do It, Evagale Church of Bagaces, Evangelical Church of Bebedero, Do It Lagar, among others.
The most enriching of vision trips is to share experiences and also gives everyone a different vision of life and new friendships are forged.
